The Cabin Fever

Happy the 1st of August! When I still was a kid (around 7 years old), I considered that this month was the end of summer, but I guess that now I've grown up since I feel like the summer has only passed its halfway! Or then it has something to do with the fact that my graduation is getting closer, and the only school-time I have left is writing my thesis :'D The time of that super-challenge is drawing to a close, but before that I'm trying to enjoy my time with friends, writing, traveling etc.

As you might remember, last week I got on a car with my mom and dad, and went for a roadtrip to Längelmäki. It's a small place close to Tampere - the car-trip from Tampere to the cabin lasts about 1½h hrs. But I'm quite sure that you don't want more blabbering about statistics of Tampere, Hervanta, our car or the trip, so I'll give you the pics straight away!

I'll make it short - I visited Hervanta because of a novel I've been writing. All I saw were blocks of flats.

Nice house. I have know idea what was it for.

The same cool and nice house, part 2.
And then on with the cabin-stuff! Here's some pics of the place :o *no need to blabber since it's summer and people have more sense for the eyes than .. reading someone's blabbering.

This place was called the Butt of MayDay.  No further words. Let's carry on.

The next pics are taken from a wide river, that was reeeaally cool! Ugh, I must get rid of those long cyllables...

That's about it folks! The trip was really nice, and even our cat loved us when we got back home...

... Or at least he enjoyed our bags quite much.

And these clouds - oh they were so cute! <3 *random feelings are random*
After the cabin-holiday I've been chilling at home and spending time with computer, books and writing. I've also managed to cook some food - for example these zucchinis (oh I love that word so much) filled with vegetables and cheese!
#omnomnom #lessfat #suchfood
I also painted a picture of an axolotl! The picture is anything but sharp - I wish I had a great scanner, so that I wouldn't have to take pictures with my cellphone </3

In the end, some leisure I've been working with. I've spent my time sending letter with a friend from Mikkeli, and we've both fallen in love with the moustache-stickers that I bought on my trip to Helsinki! The letter also includes my greeting for the mail-workers: you are doing a very wonderful job!

Shopping like a white girl (almost)

The theme of this week - shopping and travelling! I spent most of the week at Kouvola at my dear friend's place, just chilling and spending time leisurely. We also got on one-day-Helsinki-trip, and this entry is mostly about that adventure.

We visited the Art Museum Ateneum, that had a Tove Jansson 100 years- exhibition! The exhibition included Jansson's self-drawn portraits, landscapes, illustrations, magazine-prints, and of course - Moomins! There was also art from people who Tove had inspired, or Tove had been inspired by. I love Moomins very deeply, and visiting this exhibition was probably one of the most exquisite things during my entire life. Unfortunately it wasn't allowed to take pictures in the museum, but I recommend, that if you're visiting Helsinki, go see the exhibition!

Here's a good chance to show my late Birthday-present! <3
Fortunately for us, there was also a special day in Finnkino in our day of visit, so we went to watch the Grand Budapest Hotel! A great movie, I recommend you watch it :D

In Kouvola the days went by lazily. We ate good food, chilled, slept too much - spent our youth in the right way, someone liberal enough (a.k.a. me) might say. And since the pics tell more than a thousand words:

In the end, something I have NEVER done in the history of  this blog - I post pictures of clothes and other randoms that I bought during my trip.

This shirt is from (UGH, I feel kind of an teenager when I say this) from H&M at only 7 euros! We both bought the same type of shirts, me and my friend - and yeah, that somehow sounds like something only 13-years-old-best-friends do. But wha'evs! I also bought new sunglasses, that match quite nicely with the shirt :3 They were from Tiger (cost only 5 €uros, so I'm not that sure how long they will last!)

I like moustache. I like them too much. No reason why. The just are. Moustache. Something you can't have too much. Especially in accessories. The stickers were from Accessorize (0,75 €uros/arch), the flask (4 €uros) and the socks (3 €uros for these beautys, wow!) are also from Tiger

This DVD got to my bag from flea market with only 2 €uros! Finally I have the entire LOTR-trilogy on DVD :3
In the end, a few pics of my new wallet that I am deeply in love with! This one dropped to my postbox from eBay with only around 7 €uros. Just love <3

Few, lots of pics but hopefully they we're worth watching :D Now I will just relax for a few days, since next week I'm gonna go for a real cottage holiday for about 4-5 days! I get to to my grandfather's cottage, where I've last been about 8 years ago. Hopefully I will be all whee and yay and whop-a-dee-doo because of that!

Days of being wild

My summer holiday has finally started properly! Last week's Friday was my last working day at my Grandma's, and now I've had all the time to just enjoy all the time that I have in my hands. So far I've been busy doing stuff such as:

(Sorry about this silly selfie, I just had to commemorate the first face I made when the holidays started :D )

I think chilling with a cat is one of the best things you can do, when you don't have anything clever in mind :D Our little (and old) Leevi turned 15 years this Midsummer, but he's still such a lovely honeybunny and mubedibobediboo. Whatever that means. Just love <3

I've also spent wonderful times with movies! Here's the latest Toy Story movie (vol 3), that makes my cry almost every time. (Not because of this scene, though.) Everyone who's seen the movie probably knows, what's the scene that makes the tears have a party in the corners of my eyes :'D I haven't watched much movies, but today I felt instant happiness (and crush) since they showed How to Train Your Dragon in television! The second HTTYD has had it's premiere this weekened, and I can't wait to see the Hiccup being nevillelongbottomed (Check the google if you don't know what it means).

Just so you don't think I've been all by myself this week, I'll post a few pictures of an event where me and my friends we're working this week! As some of my readers might know, I study in Mikkeli, in the training program of bachelor of cultural management (phew, that sounded nice in English.)

Alongside of my studies I take part in a student-theatre group called Teatteri Idea. This week a few of our group members worked in Hulivilikarnevaali. This serie of events last for entire week, and it offered many different activities for little children! Our part in the week was to create a Nature Adventure (wow, that actually rhymes in English!) for children and their family members. Because of this we dressed as animals of the nature. Thankfully the weather was nice, so the suites weren't steaming hot! Here's some visual proof about our existence in the event.

#Lots of pics of me this time, I see...
In the end of the week I returned back to my Depeche regular mode, and spend time with my folks, computer, cat and dog. I also wrote quite much, and read a few nice books (The restaurant of yellow lemons and Rakkaudella, Hynynen) I'm trying to right my first, concrete novel this summer, and so far the writing has gone well - I only have about 8 chapters of the 26 chapters left to write! In the same time I'm working on a script for our theatre group, so I'm definitely not running out of creative things!

The Patriotic Dog. <3

And last but not least - a pic of the newest love of my life - a new bike! I got this from my grandma as a some kind of pre-heritage, and I hope I will get the most of it during this summer - aka hopefully I can cycle everyday, anywhere I want to! Wheeeeeeeeeeee~

That's all for this time - EXCEPT for one thing! As a music tip of the week I recommend Ed Sheeran. This man is too adorable. And annoying. And talented. If you wish to fall in love and hate somebody at the same time, find him on Spotify ot Youtube!

Midsummer's Epic Adventure

^That's not the best of my headlines, but let's go with that since every blog need to have a tacky headline at some point. Last week we spent Midsummer on Finland, which is almost as big of an party here as Christmas. For one weekend people will go crazy with barbecue, bonfires and sauna, and spend time with family and friends. Midsummer is probably the only traditional holiday during the summer of Finland.

I spent my Midsummer in Kokkola with my parents & little brother. The place was really nice, and it didn't even matter that we had to drive about five hours to make it to the place, where we had our cottage ! The place that we stayed was Kokkola Camping, quite near the center of the town. Our cabin was a bit of a disappointment since there was only about 35 square foot of space, but luckily most of my co-travelers stayed positive and made my trip a some-sort-of experience :)

But let's go on with the photos!
This was a reeeeally high culmen on our way to Kokkola! The distance between the top and bottom was apprx. 400 meter, and the hill was also really abrupt  to climb up :D

We had some ducks wandering around our cabin almost the entire time! They we're as cute as little kittens.

... and got really close if they found out you had snack with you :D

This door of the grill-cottage looked like a Hobbit-door!

#more_random_clouds_and_stuffies

These hobbit trees could be found at our frontyard! It felt so nice to sit beneath them in rainy weather and listen to the sound of raindrops.
... But then, a few pictured of our cabin. I think they speak more than I can tell, so just spend a few minutes with these photos and listen, what they have to say.

in the end, me and my little brother acting like the coolest dudes of the universe. #She-Man and the Mistresses of the Universe.

Now I've had a few days to recover from the trip, and I'll be heading back to work - but not for more than three days, and then my job will end and summer-holiday will begin for the fullest!
What did you people you at your Midsummer? :)
